Taylors are a fourth-generation family bulb producer dating back nearly 100 years. They are the official bulb supplier for the royal gardens and were awarded The Royal Warrant in 1985. Over the years they have won numerous awards of innovation and quality.

Dahlias are an easy and rewarding plant to grow in gardens. With so many different types available you will never grow tired of his bubbly, colourful flower. Dahlias will thrive in rich soil types that have been enriched with manure. They will need to be planted in an area with maximum sun exposure as they do not like the cold or shade. The bulbs should be planted approximately 15cm deep with a spacing of at least 60cm.

To get a head start on the season, they can be started in containers and planters so long as they are protected from frost. Care should be taken against insect activity, in particular slugs and snails. Feed regularly to encourage strong brightly coloured flowers. They will flower from July and generally remain in flower until the first frost of autumn. Regular deadheading throughout the summer will ensure the plant’s resources are always focused on the healthiest parts of the plant and on producing new flowers. Once flowering has finished, leave the bulbs and plants intact in the ground until the foliage has blackened completely. Cut the stems to roughly 15cm above ground level. Lift the bulb from the soil and clean off the soil. Dry the bulbs upside down for 7 to 10 days to remove moisture before storing them in a container of dry peat until the following spring.

These Ball Fusion Dahlias has a distinct spherical shape and sit upon an unadorned narrow stem. They will grow to a height of 90cm. They are a beautiful inclusion in any garden and are wonderful in flower arrangements.
