Fast-growing climbers, produce a glorious display of large, trumpet-shaped blooms in a range of blue shades, overlaid with deep rose markings. An easy to grow climber reaching 2.4-3m. Beautiful on a sunny wall, or in a cool greenhouse. Thrives in poor soils! Flowers July-September. Half-hardy annual. Seeds/plants harmful if eaten.
Sow on a windowsill in a propagator or in a greenhouse, three seeds per 15cm pot, 13mm deep in good quality, finely sieved, moist compost at 18-20’C. Germination 5-20 days. Grow on in a warm, frost free place. Acclimatise the plants to outside conditions before planting out against a sunny fence, shed etc. Alternatively, sow the seed thinly direct into finely raked, moist, warm, weed free soil where the plants are to flower in May.
